Requiem

Requiem

A silent requiem thunders
A language of numbers

Two souls dance
As one

in a trance

Without words
Chess boards

The Master Puppeteer
O hear

Pulls strings
Peasants and kings

Images refract
Colors abstract

Between

Glass, steel, and stones
Blood atones

Upside down
Martyrs and crowns

Between

Snow floats
Like musical notes

Caught in suspense
Past pretense

Worlds collide
Tears dried

Symphony's shadows
Hidden meadows

Rain pitter-patters
Wretched spirit hung in tatters

Japanese lanterns light
Geisha's mysterious sight

Between

Lines, letters, and words
Muted mockingbird

Tolls

Ocean crashes, thunder cracks
A soul shatters

Like a broken menagerie.
